At their regular business meeting held, January 27, 2017, the Local Trust Committee endorsed a Project Charter for this project. The purpose of the project is to review, with the community, the recent policies and regulations implemented to permit Vacation Home Rentals on Hornby Island, should there be areas to improve regulation and enforcement. The Hornby Island Advisory Planning Commission is expected to have a substantial role in the community review of the policies, and as such the LTC is seeking Expressions of Interest for up to 3 positions on the Hornby Island Advisory Planning Commission. These volunteer positions are for up to 3 years. All members must be electors within the Hornby Island Local Trust Area and two-thirds of the members must be residents in the Local Trust Area, as required by the BC Local Government Act.
