The Hornby Island Local Trust Committee (the LTC) is seeking public input on the topic of Vacation Home Rentals (VHRs) on Hornby Island. The purpose of this Community Survey is to obtain public feedback from the Hornby community about the benefits and drawbacks of VHR uses, as well as any suggested current and/or best practices or approaches for managing VHRs.

Note: The survey will be in circulation from Monday, August 14 – Monday, September 11, 2017.
Results of the survey will be analyzed and then shared publicly at the regular LTC business meeting on Friday, November 3, 2017.
The survey should take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete, and completed surveys will be received until 4 pm on Monday, September 11, 2017

Project Background Information
At their regular business meeting held, July 7, 2017, the Local Trust Committee endorsed a revised Project Charter (v. 2.0) for this project. The purpose of the project remains the same with the addition of identifying potential approaches to education as well. Project Purpose – “review with the community, the recent policies and regulations implemented to permit Vacation Home Rentals on Hornby Island, to identify improved approaches through education, regulation and enforcement.” The project will continue to include significant community consultation and valued input from the APC along with other community groups and stakeholders.
