Rural Watershed Uses

The Rural Watershed Uses project focuses on potential changes to the regulation of agriculture in the Rural Watershed 1 and 2 zones on Salt Spring Island. The objective of the project is to limit potential negative impacts on drinking water quality from farming.

Project Update:  At the December 1, 2016 meeting, the Local Trust Committee endorsed a Terms of Reference to establish a working group to review and assess proposed Bylaws 487 and 491, which would establish new regulations for agriculture in the Island’s Rural Watershed zones. See adopted minutes in the Meeting Calendar or visit the Audio Recordings webpage for audio.
