Peter Luckham - I have been a full time resident of Thetis Island since 1987, my wife Simone joined me here in 1989, we built our home and raised two children. Our son Alexander is now a builder and commercial pilot, and our daughter Tegan is studying at Vancouver Island University. I have been elected as Thetis Island Trustee since 2005, I have served on Executive committee as Vice-Chair since 2008, and am now honoured to serve as Chair of the Islands Trust. As a recent graduate of the Conflict Resolution program at The Justice Institute of British Columbia, I am committed to creating an environment of respect and dialogue. This term I would like to be able to facilitate better conversations with our constituents, the provincial government, and our First Nations neighbours to build a lasting respectful relationship and work together to preserve and protect the Islands for future generations. Before dedicating myself to the work of the Islands Trust, I spent almost 40 years in computer systems, and have been exploring the Salish Sea as professional scuba diver since 2002 . With over a thousand dives, I have spent more than 600 hours underwater. This underwater perspective has given me the opportunity to appreciate the significance of the waters of the Salish Sea and our terrestrial relationship to it.
