Mayne Island LTC Meeting – Public Hearing on Bylaws 194 and 195 and Consideration of a Temporary Use Permit

The Mayne Island Local Trust Committee will hold its Regular Meeting, a Community Information Meeting and a Public Hearing on Monday, September 29, 2025 from 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm at the Mayne Island Agricultural Hall (430 Fernhill Road). Find out more about the meeting and how to participate here.

A Community Information Meeting will be held before the Public Hearing for you to learn more about the bylaws and to ask questions. The Public Hearing is to hear submissions on Proposed Bylaws No. 194 and 195 (application MA-RZ-2023.2). Find out more about the Proposed Bylaws and how to submit input here.

Written Submission Deadline: 4:30p.m. on September 26, 2025

Written submissions received after the deadline will be considered late and will not be accepted by the Local Trust Committee. However, comments can still be made until the close of the public hearing in the following ways:

  • Speaking during the public hearing (either yourself or by someone present on your behalf)
  • Hand-delivering your written comments to the Public Hearing Secretary at the meeting

The Mayne Island Local Trust Committee will also be considering a resolution allowing for the issuance of a Temporary Use Permit. The proposed permit would apply to the DISTRICT LOT 575, COWICHAN DISTRICT being the unsurveyed land covered by water being the bed of Horton Bay, Cowichan District.
