Island Profile

Gabriola Island Local Trust Area includes over 20 islands. It features critical habitat for the Marbled Murrelet seabird and is frequented by Double-crested Cormorants. Vital to salmon, 21% of the Gabriola Local Trust Area foreshore has eelgrass beds and many beaches are suitable spawning habitat for forage fish, the principal diet of Chinook salmon.
