The Hornby Island Local Trust Area is located 31 km southeast of Courtenay, BC, has a 2016 census population of 1,016 people and covers an area of 2994 ha. The Hornby Island Local Trust Area includes the "associated" islands Toby Island, Flora Islet and Norris Rocks. The Hornby Island Local Trust Area's beautiful and vibrant islands are home to some of the rarest ecosystems in the world. September 11, 2020 | Electronic LTC Regular Business Meeting, 10:00am.

The Local Trust Committee is pleased to host a presentation by British Columbia Farm Industry Review Board staff during this regular business meeting. The presentation is about the Board’s main function as an independent administrative tribunal and its role in hearing complaints under the Farm Practices Protection Act, including those related to shellfish aquaculture. Please join the meeting to watch the presentation and ask questions of the presenters during the facilitated question and answer period that will follow the presentation.

A list of Standing Resolutions in effect to date, can be found on our website here. The short-term suspension of bylaw enforcement action via this Standing Resolution, is intended to allow for the community education and communication aspects of this phase of the VHR project to commence, and to provide adequate time for voluntary compliance without the immediate risk of enforcement.
