November 23, 2017 | Meeting Highlights
The local trust committee advanced proposed bylaws 211, 212 and 213 with 2nd and 3rd Readings. The LTC approved 5 of the 6 permit applications on the agenda deferring consideration of NP-DVP-2017.4. November 23, 2017 | Public Hearings for Proposed Bylaws 211, 212 & 213
Join the LTC at its November 23 business meeting for a Community Information Meeting and Public Hearing on proposed bylaws No. 211 & 212 (Nu-To-U). October 26, 2017 | LTC Meeting Highlights
The LTC held a Community Information and Public Hearing for Bylaw 202 (Mainroad Contracting). After hearing from the public, the LTC deferred Third Reading of the bylaw and requested amendments be brought back for consideration. Specifically, the LTC requested the zone boundary to be realigned to follow the topography and the removal of gravel crushing as a permitted use. The LTC considered Pender Island Park and Recreation Commission’s application and amended Bylaw 213 so the change to allow a picnic shelter will only apply to Thieves Bay.

September 21, 2017 | Meeting Highlights
The LTC deferred consideration of a variance request for a property on Trincoma Place (NP-DVP-2017.1), pending submission of an archaeological report. The LTC considered a development permit application (NP-DP-2017.2) for a property on Sidney Island. The request was for installation of a structure in the shoreline geotechnical hazard area on the property. The LTC denied the permit because it was not consistent with the guidelines of the Development Permit Area. The LTC also considered the rezoning request (NP-RZ-2016.4) for the Nu to You relocation to Bedwell Harbour Road, adjacent the Driftwood Centre. The LTC moved this application forward and gave Bylaws 211 and 212 First Reading. The LTC also gave First Reading to Bylaws 214
July 27, 2017 | LTC Meeting Highlights
There was a community information meeting and public hearing for Bylaw 213, which would allow picnic shelters in all Pender Island parks. The LTC heard from the public and decided to not advance the bylaw, but rather request staff to return with recommendations on limiting the allowable floor area and height of the picnic shelters, and also information for consideration of only rezoning Shingle Bay and Thieves Bay to allow this use. The LTC also considered the application by Mainroad Contracting to rezone the roadworks yard on Port Washington road. The LTC amended Bylaw 202 and gave it Second Reading. The next regular meeting of the North Pender Island Local Trust Committee is scheduled for September 21, 2017.
July 27, 2017 | LTC Meeting Update - Freedom Mobile Delegation
Freedom Mobile sends their regrets to the community and the LTC, choosing to withdraw its delegation presentation for the Thursday, July 27th business meeting, which was to be followed by an Open House at the Legion Hall. Freedom stated they will continue to seek an appropriate location and design for a Pender Islands mobile network infrastructure and is looking forward to a continued conversation with the community.

NOTICE is hereby given that the North Pender Island Local Trust Committee will hold a community information meeting within a regular meeting on January 26, 2017 for an application to the Liquor Control and Licensing Branch by Bridgemans Pub, North Pender Island (formerly ‘SH-QU-ALA’ - Port Browning Marina Resort Ltd.) for an amendment to their liquor-primary licence. As the local government, the North Pender Island Local Trust Committee is required to provide resolutions and comments on the application.
