March 28, 2019 | Cancelled LTC Business Meeting

The North Pender LTC has decided to cancel their next business meeting in March. 

Update: First Meeting Of The Year

The North Pender Island Local Trust Committee held its first meeting of 2019 on January 31st.  The LTC had a full agenda, and made a number decisions, including: issuing a temporary use permit (TUP) for shelters at the disc golf park, first reading of a zoning amendment for the Shaw communications building at Medicine Beach market, and a development permit was approved to retroactively authorize tree removal in a development permit area requiring replanting of trees. The LTC also considered a preliminary report on a TUP application for McDonald Farm, and agreed that the first step would be to hold a community information meeting.  The LTC reviewed a number of approaches to the on-going Waste Management project and requested that staff report back with options on how the bylaws could be amended.  For its other project of addressing climate change, as a first phase the LTC has asked staff to report back on groundwater data needs and options. Finally, the LTC adopted amendments to its fees bylaw and gave readings to amendments to its bylaw enforcement notification bylaw.  The next regular LTC meeting will be held on February 28th, at the Community Hall.
