About This Meeting

Island shorelines hold immense ecological and cultural value. As climate change in the Trust Area results in more extreme storms and sea level rise, the need to protect the shoreline is critical. This session would teach participants about coastal climate impacts and what they can do to promote shoreline health, as well as present brand-new data from the shoreline hardening mapping initiative led by the Pacific Salmon Foundation.

It would also introduce participants to the Green Shores® program, which was designed to help waterfront landholders restore natural shorelines using science-based tools and best practices to minimize the impacts of new development.
