Denman Island Local Trust Area is located 22km southeast of Courtenay, BC, has a 2011 census population of 1,022 and covers 5151 ha.  The Denman Island Local Trust Area also includes the "associated" islands: Chrome Island, Sandy Islet, and Seal Islet. The planner for Denman Island is Marnie Eggen.

June 8, 2017 | Country's Highest Court Dismisses Leave to Appeal Denman Island Bylaws Regarding Komas Bluff

The Supreme Court of Canada dismissed Denman Islander's application for leave to appeal to question the validity of bylaws of the Denman Island Local Trust Committee, put in place to protect both public safety and property from development on steep, unstable slopes.
