June 2016 | Community Information Meeting and Public Hearing For Bylaw Nos. 219 & 220
A Community Information Meeting (CIM) to be followed by a Public Hearing at 1:30 pm was held on Saturday, June 25th at the Denman Activity Centre, at 1 p.m., regarding a rezoning application intended to rezone lands (DE-RZ-2015.1) to allow for the donation of lands to the Valens Brook Nature Reserve in exchange for a transfer of one density to a receiving parcel on Crescent Road and one density to the OCP density bank.
May 2016 | Bylaws No. 212 and 213
Denman Island Bylaw Nos. 212 and No. 213 were given final reading and adopted at the May 17, 2016 meeting of the Denman Island Local Trust Committee (LTC). The intent and purpose of Bylaw Nos. 212 and 213 is to facilitate the implementation of the Provincial Riparian Areas Regulation.

January 2016 | Bylaw No. 216
The Denman Island (Tourist Accommodation) Bylaw No. 216 was adopted by the Denman Island Local Trust Committee by Resolution Without Meeting (RWM) on January 30, 2016. This bylaw will allow for a second set of cooking facilities for the use of customers in association with a Home-based Guest Accommodation operation (often referred to as bed and breakfast home occupations) as permitted by the Denman Land Use Bylaw. These changes will be consolidated into the Denman Island Land Use Bylaw No. 186.
August 2015 | Bylaws No. 212 and 213
Denman Island Bylaw Nos. 212 and No. 213 were given second reading at the July 21, 2015 meeting of the Denman Island Local Trust Committee (LTC). The LTC also directed that a Public Hearing be scheduled for September 8, 2015 for the proposed bylaws. The intent and purpose of proposed Bylaw Nos. 212 and 213, if adopted, is to facilitate the implementation of the Provincial Riparian Areas Regulation.. – A copy of the public hearing notice may be found here. June 2015 | Supreme Court Orders Sale of Denman Property in a Bylaw Enforcement Case
The B.C. Supreme Court ordered the sale of a Denman Island property to recover legal costs earlier awarded to the Denman Island Local Trust Committee in ongoing litigation with a landowner. - See more here.
November 2014 | Bylaw No. 210 and 211
The Denman Island (Housing Needs) Bylaws No. 210 and No. 211 were adopted by the Denman Island Local Trust Committee on November 30, 2014. These bylaws allow for secondary suites and secondary housing units on lands zoned "R2" (Rural Residential), "A" (Agriculture), "F" (Forestry) and "RE" (Resource).
