Gabriola Island Local Trust Area is located 6 km east of Nanaimo, BC and has a 2011 census population of 4045. The area includes over 20 other islands such as Mudge, DeCourcy, Entrance and the Flat Top Islands. The office is at 700 North Road. The lead planner for Gabriola is Sonja Zupanec.

August 2017| Seeking Mudge Island APC Members
The Gabriola Island Local Trust Committee is seeking volunteers for the Mudge Island Advisory Planning Commission (APC). APC members will consider referrals from the Local Trust Committee on important issues for the Mudge Island community including the official community plan, bylaw amendments and major development and rezoning applications. The deadline for expressions of interest is Friday, August 25, 2017. Contact the Islands Trust today and make your opinion count.

The Gabriola Island Advisory Planning Commission will be meeting on Thursday, August 17th, to consider a referral from the Local Trust Committee regarding the Housing Options Review Project. More detail can be found here.

Gabriola Island Trustees will be taking a break from office hours during the summer months.

Trustees are available to meet in person with residents and property owners - drop in with your questions, comments or just to say hi. Trustee Mamoser and O’Sullivan alternate office hours each Monday morning 10 am – 11 am at the Islands Trust northern office 700 North Road.
