September 18, 2014 | LTC Meeting Highlights
The Saturna Island LTC held a Community Information Meeting regarding proposed bylaws No. 112 -115 and decided to table the proposed bylaws until the next Local Trust Committee can determine how they should proceed. The October 23, 2014 regular business meeting has been cancelled.

August 8, 2014 | Public Hearing to Reconvene - CANCELLED
The Public Hearing held on Wednesday, August 6, 201,4 was recessed by the Chair at the Hearing and further announced to resume on Thursday, September 18, 2014, at 12:30 p.m. at the Saturna Island Recreation Centre, 104 Harris Road. Read the Notice of Resumption here.

June 5, 2014 | LTC Meeting Highlights
The LTC reviewed draft bylaws regarding its three projects CADR, STVR, and Secondary Suites and asked that the CADR and Secondary Suite bylaws be amended, and the STVR bylaw and accompanying TUP application fee reduction bylaws were given First Reading. An application for exclusion from the ALR was forwarded to the ALC for consideration. The Marihuana for Medical Purposes Regulation was reviewed and discussed. A Public Hearing is being scheduled for August 6 to accommodate any bylaws associated to the LTCs projects that proceed to the Public Hearing stage.
April 17, 2014 | LTC Meeting Highlights
The LTC reviewed reports on its top 3 project priorities and requested that staff itemize and comment on concerns brought up at the April 5 CIM and correspondence and at April 17 LTC. CADR – staff was requested do carryout further research on past and present development potential. An application to subdivide, SA-ALR-2013.2, was forwarded to the Agricultural Land Commission for their consideration. Staff was directed to schedule an August meeting. Re-appointments to the Advisory Planning Commission (APC) were reported including John Gains, Wayne Quinn, and Peter Seed. Ian Rowe was appointed to his first APC term.
April 5, 2014 | Community Information Meeting Highlights
The CIM was attended by over 50 members of the public. The top three work priority programs were discussed and the LTC will make further considerations regarding these programs at the next business meeting, April 17, 2014.
April 2014 | Community Information Meeting Scheduled
The Saturna Island LTC has scheduled a CIM regarding initiated projects and relative draft bylaws. The meeting will be held April 5, 2014, from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm at the Saturna Island Recreation Center. Click here to read the meeting notice.

February 13, 2014 | LTC Meeting Highlights
The LTC reviewed staff reports and draft bylaws regarding Community Amenity Density Reserve, Secondary Suites, and Short Term Vacation Rentals. The LTC directed staff to forward the draft bylaws to the APC, appropriate agencies, and First Nations for review and comment. The LTC scheduled a Community Information Meeting to be held Saturday, April 5, 2014 to consult with residents and property owners regarding the draft bylaws. Details to follow.
