Saturna

Local trust committee community planning projects are proactive initiatives that further the preserve and protect mandate. Projects can be significant and long term, such as an Official Community Plan Review, or may be relatively minor, such as an amendment to a regulation in a Land Use Bylaw.

National Park Zoning

Project to amend the Land Use Bylaw (LUB) and the Official Community Plan (OCP), to identify National Park Reserve Lands within the Saturna Island Local Trust Area as parkland. There are text and map amendments being considered.

First Nations Relationship Building

The LTC is considering a series of actions that demonstrate a commitment to improving respectful relationships between residents and visitors of Saturna Island and the local First Nations with asserted interests in Saturna Island.

OCP and LUB Minor Review Project

The LTC is considering to make minor amendments to the Saturna Island Official Community Plan No. 70 (OCP) and the Saturna Island Land Use Bylaw No. 119 (LUB) that will improve clarity and consistency of bylaw application and address some longstanding minor errors with respect to zoning and land use designations.
