Island Profile

The Saturna Island Local Trust Area is 45% protected and serves as critical habitat for several species, including the small herb White Meconella, the flowering plant Lindley’s False Silverpuffs, and the Great Blue Heron. Off its eastern coast lies one of just three temporary sanctuaries for the endangered southern resident killer whales.
