Approved Permits for Short Term Vacation Rentals

Application  Applicant Description
NP-OTH-2017.1  Freedom Mobile Freedom Mobile is proposing a 45 metre Monopole Wireless Antenna Installation and (4) initial sector antennae to be located at 1348 Mackinnon Road, North Pender Island.  The monopole is proposed in order to support Freedom’s wireless communication network service to North Pender Island and BC Ferries traffic. Upcoming dates include:
  1. July 27th – Freedom Mobile to host an Open House at the Legion Hall.  
  2. Notice Package is being resent to Property Owners and Tenants (clearly marked on the outside of the envelope).
  3. Sept 21st – NPI LTC Meeting, Freedom Mobile Request for concurrence.
NP-RZ-2017.1 Pender Island Parks and Recreation Commission (PIPRC) The application would amend North Pender Island Land Use Bylaw no. 103, 1996 to add picnic sheltersas an allowable use in the Community Park 1 (CP1) and Community Park 2 (CP2) Zones.
NP-RZ-2016.2  Port Browning Marina This is an application to rezone the water lot adjacent to the current marina at 4605 Oak Road. It is one of a number of applications to update and expand the Port Browning Marina Resort.
NP-RZ-2016.3  Port Browning Resort This application is related to the redevelopment of the Port Browning Marina Resort; it seeks a technical amendment to the Land Use Bylaw to relocate the existing septic infrastructure that services its Port Browning neighbours. The application also requests to rezone a 1.7 ac portion of the Rural lot 3 to Commercial 3 (a)  to allow the commercial accommodation uses of Port Browning to expand and encompass this portion of the land.
NP-RZ-2016.1 Mainroad This is an application for a zoning amendment for 3323 Port Washington Road.
NP-RZ-2013.1 Henshaw Otter Bay Road Waste Transfer Proposal - ON HOLD Proposed rezoning to amend the Industrial Two zone to include a broader range of uses including waste transfer.
NP-TUP-2015.1  Burdett - ON HOLD This is an application by Pender Island Waste Management for a Temporary Use Permit (TUP) in order to operate a waste transfer station at 4606 Razor Point Road.
 Burdett - ON HOLD This application, a proposed rezoning to permit a waste transfer station, has been put on hold pending outcome of community wide waste management land use planning process.
