Galiano

Local trust committee community planning projects are proactive initiatives that further the preserve and protect mandate. Projects can be significant and long term, such as an Official Community Plan Review, or may be relatively minor, such as an amendment to a regulation in a Land Use Bylaw.

Groundwater Sustainability Project

This project will develop information and data as part of a phased ecological approach to groundwater management on Galiano, Mayne, North Pender, South Pender, and Saturna Islands.  For more information see About the Project below.

District Lot 64, 68, 72, 87 Project

The purpose of this project is to rezone and redesignate portions of District Lot (DL) 68, 72 and all of DLs 64 and 87 to Nature Protection (NP) in the Galiano Island Land Use Bylaw No. 127, 1999 (LUB) and Official Community Plan No. 108, 1995 (OCP) by amending proposed Bylaws 231 and 232.
