Galiano

Local trust committee community planning projects are proactive initiatives that further the preserve and protect mandate. Projects can be significant and long term, such as an Official Community Plan Review, or may be relatively minor, such as an amendment to a regulation in a Land Use Bylaw.

Affordable Housing – Short-term Vacation Rentals

The intent of the project is, over several phases, to review and potentially amend policies and regulations to encourage and support affordable housing on Galiano Island. In the first phase, a Housing Needs Assessment and Special Advisory Planning Commission report have been completed that provide an understanding of affordable housing needs on Galiano Island.  For more information see About this Project below.

Land Use Bylaw Technical Review

The purpose of this project is to conduct a technical review of the Galiano Island Land Use Bylaw No. 127, 1999 (LUB) along with associated schedules and to propose technical amendments for Local Trust Committee (LTC) consideration.
