South Pender

Local trust committee community planning projects are proactive initiatives that further the preserve and protect mandate. Projects can be significant and long term, such as an Official Community Plan Review, or may be relatively minor, such as an amendment to a regulation in a Land Use Bylaw.

Land Use Bylaw Amendments

Purpose: To consider minor amendments to the South Pender Land Use Bylaw (LUB).

Background: The South Pender Local Trust Committee identified a number of topics to consider for amendments to the LUB. The project would review options for amending the maximum floor area regulations, setback review, agricultural land regulations (in accordance with ALC Policy L-26), shipping containers, and other minor and technical amendments.

Minor Official Community Plan Amendments

Purpose: To make minor amendments to the South Pender Official Community Plan (OCP).

Background: The Local Trust Committee is considering amending the South Pender OCP to include the following three items: Building Design & Siting Guidelines, Rights of Nature principle and policies, and First Nation introductory/acknowledgement statement.
